The Eighth Central Pay Commission has further extended the final date for submission of the memorandum to July 31, 2026, inviting recommendations from UTs, central ministries and departments on the pay, allowances, and pension structure for various categories of government officers, employees, and pensioners.
The Commission had earlier set June 15, 2026, as the last day for submitting suggestions through their online web portal.
“As various ministries, departments and union territories have been unable to complete the submission of the requisite data within the stipulated timeline, it has been decided to extend the last date for submission of data through the data collection portal up to July 31, 2026," a circular issued by the commission on June 30 stated.
Furthermore, the commission has directed that memoranda be submitted exclusively through its official website. Hard copies, physical submissions, and emails will not be accepted and may not be considered by the Commission.
Commenting on the extension of deadlines, Manjeet Singh Patel, President of All India NPS Employees Federation, stated, "For the Commission, especially when it is working at full speed, repeatedly extending deadlines is not an easy decision."
The Pay Commission requires related data from ministries, departments, union territories, and central autonomous bodies to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the actual needs of central employees, pensioners, and other stakeholders across the country and to present fair, practical, and far-sighted recommendations for the next 10 years, Patel explained.
Meanwhile, as part of the ongoing 8th CPC consultation visit across states and UTs, the commission has announced visits to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh; Bhubaneswar, Odisha; and Kolkata, West Bengal.
The meeting in Odisha has been fixed for July 6-7, and in Kolkata for July 9-10. To get an appointment with the commission, central government organisations, institutions, employee associations, and unions must submit an online request through the commission's website.
In the recent past, the Commission engaged in consultation with stakeholders in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir, Hyderabad, Telangana, and Maharashtra. The Commission held its first interaction with employee associations based in Uttarakhand on April 26, 2026.
