Mahindra & Mahindra announced that tractor sales in July rose by 20% year‑on‑year. The company sold 34,420 tractors, compared to 28,708 in July of the previous year.
Domestic sales climbed 21% to 32,643 units, up from 26,990 a year earlier. Exports grew 3% to 1,777 units, compared with 1,718 units last year.
The company said that the rise in demand is linked to improved monsoon conditions. Better rainfall and higher reservoir levels have encouraged farmers to start sowing.
Veejay Nakra, President of Farm Equipment, added that government support and healthy farm cash flows have boosted farmer confidence. He said the recovery in rainfall and reservoir levels has helped improve rural sentiment.
The stronger sales reflect a growing rural economy. Farmers are more willing to invest in machinery as the kharif season approaches.
Overall, Mahindra & Mahindra’s July performance shows that better weather and supportive policies are driving tractor demand in India.
