The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) released its Annual Report 2025‑26, detailing fresh welfare initiatives for its workforce. The regulator aims to boost inclusivity, financial security, and work‑life balance across all employee categories.
One of the flagship programmes is the introduction of Meta Ray‑Ban AI glasses for staff with visual impairments. These wearable devices use artificial intelligence to assist navigation and task execution, allowing employees to work more independently and safely.
SEBI has also revamped its housing loan scheme. Eligibility limits are higher, interest rates are lower, and employees can now obtain loans for a second residential property. Credit score and monthly deduction norms have been relaxed to make the scheme more flexible.
Retirement benefits have seen a boost as well. SEBI will now contribute 14 percent of an employee’s pay to Tier‑I National Pension System accounts, up from the previous 12 percent, aligning with the central government’s contribution framework.
The regulator increased the ceiling of its personal advance scheme, offering higher limits for education costs of dependents, vehicle purchases, consumer durables, and other personal needs. It also raised the lease‑rental ceiling for officers posted in Mumbai and eased eligibility conditions.
Travel and family‑friendly benefits were expanded. The Leave Fare Concession (LFC) scheme for air travel now covers all Grade 'A' employees. Childcare support now includes crèche facilities, and women returning from maternity leave can work from home for up to 90 days under specified conditions.
SEBI emphasized learning and well‑being this year. It sponsored 1,384 domestic training programmes covering functional, behavioural, and technology skills. Wellness initiatives such as CPR drills, yoga sessions, nutrition workshops, and family engagement events were also organised.
Overall, the new measures reflect SEBI’s commitment to a supportive, inclusive, and productive workplace for all its employees.
